It seemed like an easy enough job, which is why former cop and marginal private detective, Lyman Henry, agreed to take it: find the person who killed the son of respected Phoenix businessman, Williams Smoot, the man with two last names. There was only one trifling problem. The confessed murderer was already in jail. But Henry figured he'd simply work around that niggling quandary. His investigation into Freddie Smoot's murderrapidly deteriorates into a quagmire of treachery, deceit, and abominable criminality.
